We have received some sad news to share regarding Scouter Paul Meyerman. Paul has passed away as a result of cancer. He was instrumental in getting the mountain bike program going and served at all levels in the council: council and district committees as well as the Executive Board. 5 groups (pit crews) of 7 kids race in the Cub-apolis 400 from Rudd-Rockford-Marble Rock in November 2013. Cardboard cars race around the gym 4 times. 1st lap: wash windows (kids had goggles on and they sprayed them with water and wipe it with a towel). 2nd lap fuel: drink a juice box. 3rd lap change tires…..

Kaleb talked in a Facebook post about how everyone is so disconnected from each other in this day and age that no one would help three screaming kids after a car accident; four grown adults just stood around and stared not 30 feet from the wreckage, so Kaleb stepped up to help.

Each boy was paired up with an elderly “friend” and helped them make a gingerbread house.

They had a fabulous time and Mark Schnackenberg even posted this picture on Facebook and Twitter and commented on how well behaved they were!

The first weekend of December 2013, Troop 500 visited Eagle Cave in Wisconsin, which is the world’s largest onyx cave!

This project took over 80 volunteers who put in more than 950 volunteer hours!
